Boys' soccer Georges Valley 4, Mtn. Valley 0
Sunday, September 7, 2008
THOMASTON - Left striker Ketch Cowan capped the 4-0 Georges Valley victory over Mountain Valley with a slippery second half goal in MVC boys' soccer action Saturday.
The Buccaneers (1-0) took control of the game with three goals before intermission. The wind and rain drenched fields in the second half limited any real offensive traction until Cowan's tally.
Kyle Gauvin and Gino Salgado shared keeper duties for the Buccaneers, accounting for a combined two saves. Goalie Alec Young turned back 10 shots for the Falcons (0-1) in the loss.

It's sounds just as bad as the results for the national teams for Denmark and Sweden playing soccer Saturday night for the qualification to the world championship in 2010. Hungary-Denmark 0-0; Albania-Sweden 0-0. Both matches should have been won easily by the scandinavians. Wednesday are new matches coming up. Like Monday, Wednesday and Friday in Maine.
We all have to focus on what Soren Kierkegaard said: The road is everything, the goal is nothing (or someting like that)

Easy for Kierkegaard to say--he didn't get his butt kicked 4-nil!
