The boys have left this morning on the Yellow School Bus to their first official match. They're heading to Thomaston, Maine, and its Georges Valley High School, some 100 miles away (approximately 3.5 hours by school bus). This team has a very athletic group of players; the school, unlike Mountain Valley HS, does not have American football, so this means that many of their most talented athletes play soccer. It will be a difficult match for the Falcons (MVHS) coupled with the remnants of a hurricane blasting up the East Coast--the boys will get wet and will be challenged. Unfortunately, the newspaper did not spell Peter's last name correctly in the article above. At the top of the article is a picture of Myles Mercier, Alex and Peter's friend who picks them up in his car most mornings for school. Myles looks to be heading to the University of Maine next year as a student. He's a great guy and has worked for Rich over the past two years at his home.

It was NOT pretty.... not at all.... we are in mourning. Three matches next week, so we hope for better results.
