Autumn in Western Maine The hillsides surrounding Rumford and Maine's western mountains are ablaze with colors these days. The temperatures have been terrific, but the most recent long-range forecast calls for temperatures to begin dropping. Fall is in the air, and soon a taste of winter. That's Maine in October.
