Riding the BIG Waves on Lake Webb
Peter has become a superb boatsman in the kayak. Today, in 2-3 foot swells (some looking like 4 footers), Peter kayaked nearly three miles in the lake. Alex and Rich kept track from the wave runner. You'll get a good sense of the wave depths by looking at the picture just below. At the end Peter had nearly two feet of water in the stern of the boat. An amazing feat of paddling, to be sure....

First Day of American School: The goal? No detentions!
Tour of Mountain Valley High School
The evening before school started we took a tour of the high school to find classrooms. One of the American football coaches, Rick White, who is hosting a Brazilian student (soccer player) took our picture at the front door. Alex thought briefly about playing American football when he saw the training sled.... Peter's sticking to soccer.

Rangeley Road Trip at Sunset
After the soccer tournament we headed to the lake for a few hours and then up the the "Height of Land" where these pictures are taken looking out over the Rangeley Lakes. From there we headed to a sports pub for quintessential American food (i.e., ribs, burgers, pasta).
Mount Abram Soccer Tournament (1W-2L-1D)
Alexander listening to the coach and Peter between matches.
Alexander (#9, silver) moving to far post in a match against the host team, Mount Abram. This match, a tie, against a good opponent was the most impressive match for the Mountain Valley HS Falcons. Alex served up a brilliant ball to the far post from 25 meters and his teammate scored the tying goal with a header.
